Are Winter Tires Important? Living in Colorado comes with great perks such as hiking, camping, and skiing across the state’s changing seasons. The changing weather does however require more automotive maintenance than other regions with boring climates. Tire maintenance is one of those categories. You may be asking, “why do I need to buy a whole new set of tires for winter when I just bought all-season tires during the summer? Technically, if your vehicle is 4WD, the all-season tires may be good enough, but it is recommended for safety and drivability that all vehicles, including AWD/4WD, switch to winter tires in October or November.
